TEREA Pearl Editions: Capsule Sticks and Flavours in the UAE

TEREA Pearl Editions: Capsule Sticks and Flavours in the UAE

TEREA Pearl editions are the capsule sticks in the range: twelve flavours that hold a small crush ball in the filter and release a second flavour when you click it. That one mechanical difference is what separates a Pearl from every other TEREA stick. A Wave or a Turquoise gives you one fixed profile from first draw to last; a Pearl gives you a base tobacco and then, whenever you choose, a fruit or menthol burst on top. In the UAE the Pearls run from AED 120 for Indonesian packs to AED 205 for Japanese ones, with Kazakh, Uzbek and Kyrgyz packs at AED 125 and AED 130, and the roster covers watermelon, tropical fruit, blueberry, strawberry-basil, forest berry, pear, raspberry and muscat grape. This guide explains what the Pearl editions are, how the capsule actually behaves, which of the twelve is which, when to crush it, and what each pack costs in Dubai today.

What TEREA Pearl editions are

A Pearl edition is a standard TEREA stick with a crushable capsule built into the filter section. The tobacco, the sealed wrapper, the induction heating and the 20-stick pack are all identical to the rest of the range. The difference is the capsule: a small ball of flavouring that stays intact until you press it, at which point it releases into the draw.

That design gives each Pearl two phases. Before the crush you get the base blend the stick was built on — toasted tobacco, light tobacco, or a richer leaf depending on the edition. After the crush you get the capsule note layered over that base: watermelon and menthol, blueberry and menthol, pear with clove, and so on. The base does not disappear; it becomes the floor under the new flavour.

The Pearl line is also where TEREA puts its most specific fruit ideas. Instead of the broad berry-and-cooling direction of the Wave series, Pearls name the fruit and often a second note: strawberry with basil, pear with clove, raspberry with a floral edge, muscat grape with menthol. That specificity is the reason the line has twelve editions rather than five, and the reason buyers tend to have one favourite rather than a rotation.

Packaging and sizing follow the standard: 20 sticks per pack, 10 packs and 200 sticks per carton, sealed and batch-checked. Every Pearl works in every ILUMA device, and none of them works in the older blade models.

How the capsule works

The capsule sits in the filter, not in the tobacco. When you press the filter between your fingers you feel a small resistance, then a click as the ball collapses. From that point the flavouring is released into the airflow, and every subsequent draw carries it. There is no second capsule and no way to un-crush it, so the decision is genuinely one-way for that stick.

Once crushed, it stays crushed. That is the single most important thing to understand about Pearls: you are not switching a flavour on and off, you are choosing the point in the session where the second flavour begins. A stick crushed before the first draw is a fruit stick from the start. The same stick crushed halfway is a tobacco stick that turns into a fruit stick. Both are valid; they are simply different sessions from identical hardware.

The capsule does not change the tobacco, the heat or the nicotine delivery of the stick. It adds aroma and a cooling or fruity impression to the draw. Anyone expecting the capsule to double the strength of a stick will be disappointed; anyone expecting it to change the character of the second half will not be.

Two practical notes. Press firmly but once — repeated squeezing after the click does nothing except deform the filter. And if you cannot feel the capsule, check that you are pressing the filter band marked on the stick rather than the tobacco section; the ball sits below the printed line, not above it.

The twelve Pearl editions, compared

The table below covers every Pearl edition stocked in the UAE, with the capsule note, the base it sits on and the pack price by origin. Prices are per pack of 20.

Pearl edition Capsule note Origins in stock Pack price (AED)

Oasis Pearl Creamy tropical fruit Indonesia, Japan 120 / 205
Twilight Pearl Blueberry and menthol Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan 125 / 130
Starling Pearl Strawberry, basil and menthol Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan 125
Provence Pearl Berry over rich tobacco Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan 125
Tidal Pearl Mint-led cooling Uzbekistan 125
Bermin Pearl Forest berry, clove and menthol Indonesia 120

Clove Capsule Strawberry Pearl Strawberry and clove Indonesia 120

Sun Pearl is the widest-stocked edition and the one most buyers start with: watermelon and menthol over a mild tobacco base, available from four origins and priced from AED 120. It is the fruitiest of the twelve and the clearest demonstration of what a capsule does, which is why it carries the line for most of the market.

Twilight Pearl is the dark-berry counterweight: blueberry and menthol over toasted tobacco, from Kazakhstan at AED 130 and Uzbekistan at AED 125. Where Sun is bright and wet, Twilight is deeper and drier, and the menthol is more of a cooling frame than a headline. It is the edition regulars graduate to after Sun.

Starling Pearl is the most complex blend in the line: strawberry, basil and menthol, with the herbal note keeping the fruit from turning syrupy. Provence Pearl goes the other way, putting a berry capsule over a deliberately rich tobacco base so the pre-crush half is a fuller smoke than most Pearls offer. Tidal Pearl is the quietest: a mint-led cooling capsule over a warm, lightly woody base, and the least fruity of the twelve.

Bermin and Perint Pearl are the clove pair from Indonesia — forest berry and pear respectively, both with clove and menthol. The clove sits underneath the fruit rather than on top of it, which gives both sticks a spiced, dry finish that no other Pearl has. The two Clove Capsule editions, passion fruit and strawberry, push the clove further forward and are the most aromatic packs in the range.

The Japanese editions close the line at AED 205. Oasis Pearl is creamy tropical fruit over light tobacco, Riviera Pearl is raspberry with a floral edge, and Shine Pearl is muscat grape with menthol — the sweetest and most grape-specific stick TEREA makes. All three are the same mechanics at the top of the price band.

When to crush the capsule

There is no correct moment, but there are three patterns worth knowing. Crush before the first draw if you want the capsule flavour for the whole session: the stick reads as a fruit or menthol stick from the start, and the tobacco stays underneath as support. This is how most buyers use Sun, Oasis and Shine, where the fruit is the point.

Crush at the halfway mark if you want two sessions in one stick. The first half is the base blend, the second half is the capsule. This works best on Provence, Twilight and Tidal, where the tobacco base is strong enough to be worth a full half on its own. It is also the pattern that makes a Pearl useful as a daily stick rather than an occasional one, because you can decide at the moment whether you want the fruit.

Crush near the end if you only want a finish. A late crush gives you the tobacco session you wanted and a short flavoured close, which is the lightest way to use the line and the one that stretches a pack furthest in terms of variety. On Starling and the clove editions, a late crush also keeps the herbal and spice notes from dominating.

Two cautions. Do not crush and then leave the stick sitting — the capsule is released into a filter that is already warm, and the flavour fades quickly. And do not assume a crushed Pearl is stronger: the capsule adds aroma and cooling, not weight. If you want more tobacco presence, choose a different edition such as Provence, not a harder press.

Which Pearl is which, in one line each

If you are choosing blind, this is the short version. Sun Pearl is watermelon and menthol, bright and wet, the beginner’s Pearl. Twilight Pearl is blueberry and menthol over toasted tobacco, deeper and drier. Starling Pearl is strawberry with basil and menthol, the most layered. Provence Pearl is a berry capsule over rich tobacco, the fullest base. Tidal Pearl is mint over a warm woody base, the least fruity. Oasis Pearl is creamy tropical fruit, soft and rounded. Bermin Pearl is forest berry with clove, spiced and dry. Perint Pearl is pear with clove, lighter and cleaner. Riviera Pearl is raspberry with a floral edge, the most perfumed. Shine Pearl is muscat grape, the sweetest. The two Clove Capsule editions are passion fruit and strawberry with the clove turned up.

Read as a ladder of intensity, Sun and Shine sit at the fruit-forward end, Twilight and Provence at the tobacco-forward end, and the clove editions sit outside the ladder entirely because the spice changes the shape of the session. That is not a strength ranking; all twelve are standard TEREA sticks. It is a ranking of how far the capsule moves you from the base blend.

For a first order, pick two from opposite ends — Sun and Provence, or Shine and Tidal. Two packs cost AED 245 to AED 325 depending on origin, clears free delivery, and tells you whether you want the capsule to lead or follow. Our Wave series guide is the natural next read if you are deciding between capsules and fixed flavour, and the which TEREA flavour guide covers the rest of the families.

Device fit and day-to-day use

Every Pearl edition fits the full ILUMA family: ILUMA ONE, ILUMA, ILUMA PRIME, and the ILUMA i ONE, i STANDARD and i PRIME. The capsule does not change compatibility, seating or the heat cycle. Pearls do not fit the blade-era devices such as the IQOS 3 DUO, which take HEETS, and forcing one in will damage the holder.

Because the capsule sits in the filter, the way you hold the stick matters more than with a plain TEREA. Grip the device body rather than the exposed filter if you have already crushed, and keep your fingers off the capsule band before you are ready to press. A stick that gets squeezed in a pocket can arrive pre-crushed, which removes the choice.

Storage is the other habit worth keeping. Capsules are sensitive to heat and pressure, so keep packs sealed and out of a hot car. A Pearl that has been baked in a glovebox will still work, but the capsule note will be flatter than it should be. Buy by the carton only for editions you already know.

If a capsule will not click at all, the usual cause is a filter that has already been compressed — a pack carried loose in a bag, or a stick pressed against the device cap. The stick still smokes as a plain TEREA in that case, just without the second flavour. If the click happens but the flavour is faint, check the pack date and how it has been stored before blaming the stick; heat exposure dulls a capsule long before the tobacco goes stale.

One more habit that helps with the line: keep the edition you are testing separate from your daily pack. Pearls are easy to over-use in the first week because the capsule is novel, and buyers who burn through a carton of Sun Pearl in a fortnight often find they cannot taste the watermelon anymore. Rotating a Pearl with a plain stick keeps the capsule distinct.

Pearl prices, cartons and delivery in the UAE

Per pack of 20, the Indonesian Pearls — Sun, Oasis, Bermin, Perint and the two Clove Capsule editions — are AED 120. The Uzbek and Kyrgyz packs — Twilight, Starling, Provence and Tidal — are AED 125, with Twilight also available from Kazakhstan at AED 130 and Sun from Kazakhstan at AED 130 and Kyrgyzstan at AED 125. The Japanese packs — Sun, Oasis, Riviera and Shine — are AED 205. Per carton of 200 sticks that is AED 1,200, AED 1,250, AED 1,300 or AED 2,050.

Per stick, the range runs from AED 6 at the Indonesian band to AED 10.25 for the Japanese editions. The Japanese packs are the same recipes built for a different market; the capsule works identically, and the difference is batch and price rather than compatibility. For most buyers the Indonesian and Central Asian packs are the sensible daily choice, with a Japanese pack bought once to compare.

All prices include the UAE’s 100% tobacco excise and 5% VAT, which is what sets the floor across the market. A Pearl offered well below AED 120 is worth questioning. The current figure for every edition and origin is on the IQOS TEREA price list, updated the same day anything changes.

Delivery runs on one schedule for the whole line: Dubai in 60–120 minutes from confirmation, every other Emirate same-day before 1 PM and next-day after, AED 30 flat and free over AED 499, cash on delivery in all seven Emirates with no surcharge. Every handover is 18+ with a valid Emirates ID or passport checked before payment under Federal Law No. 15 of 2009 and Wadeema’s Law. The delivery page has the emirate-by-emirate detail.

Frequently asked questions

What are TEREA Pearl editions?

Pearl editions are TEREA sticks with a crushable flavour capsule in the filter. The stick is otherwise standard: sealed, induction-heated, 20 per pack. Before you crush the capsule you taste the base tobacco blend; after you crush it, the capsule note — watermelon, blueberry, pear, raspberry and so on — is released into the draw. Twelve editions are stocked in the UAE, from Indonesian packs at AED 120 to Japanese packs at AED 205.

When should I crush the capsule?

Whenever you want the second flavour to start. Crush before the first draw for a fruit-led session, at the halfway point for a tobacco half followed by a flavoured half, or near the end for a short flavoured finish. There is no wrong moment, but the timing does change the session, so it is worth trying all three on the same edition before deciding how you prefer it.

Does the capsule stay crushed for the rest of the stick?

Yes. Once the ball collapses, the flavouring is released and cannot be resealed, so the rest of that stick carries the capsule note. There is no second capsule and no way to return to the plain base blend. That is why the timing decision matters: you are choosing where the flavour change happens in the session, not switching it on and off.

Which Pearl edition is the strongest?

It depends what you mean. Provence Pearl has the fullest tobacco base, with a berry capsule over rich leaf, so it reads as the heaviest of the twelve. Sun Pearl and Shine Pearl deliver the biggest fruit statement, and the two Clove Capsule editions are the most aromatic. None of them is a strong-tobacco stick in the way the dark regulars are; the capsule changes aroma, not weight.

How much do Pearl editions cost in Dubai?

Indonesian packs are AED 120, Uzbek and Kyrgyz packs AED 125, Kazakh packs AED 130 and Japanese packs AED 205. A carton is 10 packs, so AED 1,200 to AED 2,050 depending on origin. Prices include 100% tobacco excise and 5% VAT. Sun Pearl is the widest-stocked edition and the cheapest way in at AED 120 from Indonesia.

Do Pearl sticks work in every IQOS ILUMA device?

Yes. Pearls fit the whole ILUMA family: ILUMA ONE, ILUMA, ILUMA PRIME, and the ILUMA i ONE, i STANDARD and i PRIME. The capsule does not affect compatibility, seating or the heat cycle. They do not fit blade-era devices such as the IQOS 3 DUO, which take HEETS, and should never be forced into one.

Where to buy TEREA Pearls in Dubai

Buy from a seller that names the origin and the capsule note on the listing, because both matter here: the same Sun Pearl is AED 120 from Indonesia and AED 205 from Japan, and the editions differ by exactly which fruit and spice the capsule carries. The TEREA flavours range lists all twelve with their notes, and the shop by country view shows which origin is in stock.

If you are new to capsules, order Sun and Provence together — the brightest and the fullest — and try one crushed early and one crushed late. That costs AED 245 for 40 sessions, ships free, and answers the two questions that decide the rest of your Pearl buying: whether you want fruit to lead, and whether you want the base tobacco to have body.

Buy in Dubai: TEREA Oasis Pearl Japan: Creamy Tropical Fruit Capsule Over Light Tobacco at AED 205, Mint TEREA Japan: The Softest Cooling Option in the TEREA Menthol Range at AED 205, HEETS TEREA Sun Pearl Kazakhstan for ILUMA: Fruit Capsule Over Mild Tobacco at AED 130. Order before 1 PM for same-day delivery across the Emirates — AED 30 delivery, free over AED 499 — with cash on delivery and card on delivery available. Every handover is 18+ verified.
